Get To Know Your Cycle Program
In order to use its power, you must give it a chance
Many women feel like their cycle is happening to them.
Menstruation seems to be a necessary evil that somehow always shows up when you are just about to go on a holiday to a beautiful beach.
Annoying, but part of life as a woman, apparently.
Still, every now and then, questions sneak up in their minds
Should it really be necessary to wear multiple layers of pads at night to prevent leaking?
And the cramping during your work presentation. Is that normal?
What about that discharge in your panties: does everyone have this or is it time for a small walk of shame to your doctor to check for fungi?
Also: why is sex so painful? Wasn’t it supposed to be fun?
Others might secretly wonder why everyone is talking about a 28-day cycle. It’s been ages since their last period. Lucky them, right…?
And we haven’t even talked about the emotional roller-coaster yet
One day you shine with confidence, knowing that you must be the most beautiful woman in every room. The next day? 100% frustration because your partner is chewing. And the crying, does it ever stop?!
Most women feel like they are at the mercy of the Menstrual Gods. Praying each month that this time it won’t be that bad. Feeling shaken when their period shows up. Ashamed about the mysterious discharge. And, honestly, a little frightened by the emotional outbursts that seem so uncontrollable.
If they’ve ever felt that something was not quite right, and they didn’t brush it off themselves, usually a doctor did: it is probably nothing, they shouldn’t make a big deal out of it, but if they want, they can take the pill so it doesn’t bother them.
But somehow that doesn’t seem to do justice to their body and experience
Still, they don’t feel like they have the knowledge needed to ask the questions they would want to.
Instead, they feel like their body is going through a mysterious process each month.
They feel like there must be more to it than what they learned in school.
Like there are secrets hidden in this monthly process.
And maybe even some empowering knowledge?
They did try hormonal birth control for a while
But somehow it felt not quite right. Like something was missing.
Life somehow seemed flat without it.
So, one night, looking at the beautiful moon, they decide to give it another go. Take out the IUD. Stop taking the pill.
See what life would be like without it.
And they were right.
The menstrual cycle is so much more than just an inconvenience
It is an amazing process that gives a cyclical nature to life. A guide, if you give it a chance.
It is a reflection of how you are doing and what is actually true for you.
It mirrors your overall health.
It guides you where you might need changes.
It protects your body from illness. Surprisingly, as so many women experience illness related to their cycle.
But in order to use its power, you must give it a chance.
Get to know your cycle and its secrets.
Learn to read its signs.
This is what we will discover together in this program.
The Get to know your cycle program:
This program is for a group of up to 12 women who are ready to get to know their cycle. This is a warm and safe space where we talk about the menstrual cycle, share challenges and goals for your reproductive health. There is space to ask questions that you wouldn’t otherwise dare to ask. Together we learn about the cycle, getting to know it so that we can feel empowered by it.
As a common thread, we use the Fertility Awareness Method. This is a way of tracking your cycle that makes the physiological processes of the cycle more tangible. This method of cycle charting shows you what is happening in your body in different phases of your menstrual cycle. It can help indicate potential hormonal imbalance, the impact of different life circumstances, and it shows you on which days you are fertile. If desired, the Fertility Awareness Method can be used as safe method of birth control or a guide when trying to get pregnant
Some topics we will cover in this program:
- How the cycle works
- How hormones influence how you feel
- Which different phases there are in the cycle
- What a healthy cycle looks like and why that is important
- Common causes for hormonal imbalance
- How your basal body temperature changes throughout the cycle
- How your cervical discharge changes throughout the cycle
- How your cervix changes throughout the cycle
- How to chart your cycle using the sympto-thermal method.
- How to identify your fertile and infertile days
This course is a good fit for you if:

About me
Hi, my name is Elise and since my early twenties I have been learning about the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, birth and anything related. Female reproductive health has somehow always been fascinating to me. About 10 years ago I stopped taking the pill because I was curious about what my body would feel like without any medication. This is when I first started tracking my cycle.
Over the years, I learned a lot and my charting became more and more detailed and precise. In 2024 I decided to formalize my knowledge and got certified as Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) teacher with the NFPTA. Since then, I have been teaching other women about the story their cycle is telling them.
My personal health journey has not been straight forward: I have been diagnosed with PCOS, Hashimoto and insulin resistance. I have been trying to conceive for 3,5 years, had a miscarriage, and my left fallopian tube was removed after an ectopic pregnancy. Together with a Canadian specialist, I have been working to balance my hormones with the help of lifestyle changes, supplements and occasional medication. Along the way, I am learning to trust my intuition, listen to the messages my body is trying to express, and continue to have some fun next to all the ‘rules’.
Fun facts:
- I am a 31 year old Dutch original that has been living in Budapest for 5+ years with her Hungarian husband.
- We have a cat that we call Cica but her official name is Zaza.
- I love dancing: ballet, swing, weird dancing in the kitchen. I love it all. I recently rediscovered that folkdancing makes me soo happy!
- You will spot me riding around the city on the prettiest red bike, I’ve had it since I was 16!
- I enjoy reading great novels, but lately have been spending more time on socials than reading…
- Besides teaching FAM, I help female entrepreneurs make their business visions come to life.
- I am also a trained carpenter, but am currently only working on things that can be made in my living room as I don’t have a workshop.
