Why chart your cycle?
Charting you cycle with the Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) is a natural approach that helps you get to know your body and menstrual cycle better. By focussing on four indicators of fertility, you learn to identify the different phases of your cycle, identify when you are fertile and when not, and recognise the different hormonal patterns in your cycle.
When using cycle charting as method of birth control, the goal is to pinpoint your fertile window as accurately as possible—long enough to ensure safety, but not so long that you unnecessarily restrict yourself.

Tracking your cycle is a natural, hormone-free method that helps you understand your cycle, whether you want to prevent pregnancy, conceive, or get to know your body.
1. Effective birth control
The Sympto-Thermal Method—the approach I teach—allows you to prevent pregnancy and is just as effective as condoms or the pill when practiced correctly. However, to rely on FAM for birth control, it’s essential to learn it properly—guessing or inaccurate tracking (apps) increases the risk of pregnancy.
2. Getting pregnant
FAM is also a powerful tool for getting pregnant. Many people start tracking their cycles only after struggling to conceive, often realizing they were mistiming intercourse or that there is a hormonal imbalance preventing them from getting pregnant. Charting your cycle helps you accurately identify your most fertile days and spot potential fertility issues sooner.
3. learn to understand your body
Even if preventing or achieving pregnancy isn’t on your mind FAM is still a very powerfull tool to get to know your body better. In fact: this is my favourite reason to start charting! Considering the number of cycles you have in your life, you might as well get to know what’s happening!
My approach to cycle charting
Many of the people I teach feel stressed or confused when starting to chart. Their charts don’t look what they expected based on the pretty example charts they saw online and it’s harder to get used to the daily practice than they expected.
Their mind takes over, telling them why it’s not working or why they are failing at something ‘as simple as’ cycle charting.
Not helpful at all.
My approach is to see charting as an experiment. There is enough stress in daily life; let’s not make charting another thing where your perfectionsm takes the overhand.
Although I do of course teach you how to chart for birth control, I encourage you to try charting for 3 cycles just as something you gift yourself. No pressure. Just an experiment. See what happens. See how your body works. See the changes throughout your cycle. And see how you like it.
If after these three months, you want to continue charting, great. If not; also great. You gifted yourself the chance to get to know your body. This knowledge won’t be taken away from you and you can always get bet to it when you feel like it.


What does the Fertility Awareness Method course look like?
The course consists of 4 classes each about 2-2,5 hours long, spread over 2-3 months. The first 2 classes will be offline (in Budapest, Hungary), as it will help us get to know each other and look at the personal charts. The other classes can be either offline or online, depending on group preferences.

To ensure we have plenty of time for individual questions and support, and to ensure group safety, I keep the groups small: generally between 3-6 people.
During the 3 months of the course, I offer you personal support whenever needed. Feel free to ask questions or ask for personal support whenever you need it. This can help you take a closer look at your personal charts and issues you encounter. Of course, you are also welcome to bring those up in the classes. In fact, in my experience, this is often even more beneficial as these questions are usually very helpful for the rest of the group as well.
